What a great few weeks it’s been with enjoying the holiday season and getting on the water almost every day. I’ve had quite a few inshore charters as well as a few offshore trips. The inshore bite has stayed fairly consistent with the exception of 1 trip, where even on that one we got a few fish for everyone on board. We are catching sheepshead under the docks, but not many that have grown enough to be keepers yet, as well as some nice black drum.
There are some Spanish mackerel around that make for a good battle on light tackle.
As well as a good amount of jack crevalles, with some good sized ones in the mix.
For the most part the snook bite has continued to be excellent with good numbers of fish, but not a lot of big fish.
We’ve caught several redfish over the last several trips as well, but most have all been under the minimum slot limit.
I’ve been lucky enough to mate on a few more offshore trips as well where the great fishing continues. There are plenty of mangrove and lane snappers, along with porgies and grunts at most of the spots we are fishing. Along with lots of really nice gag grouper that unfortunately have to be released. The red grouper are still chewing like crazy, but we’ve had to go out a little farther for numbers of keepers on the last few trips.
