I had another good 4 hour charter on Estero Bay yesterday. The couple and first time customers are here visiting Fort Myers from the Buffalo area. We started the afternoon trip looking for some bait to capture with the castnet without any luck. No matter, the shrimp I had purchased that morning worked just fine. We spent the afternoon fishing in the back sections of the bay around the mangrove islands and oyster bars.
The best fish of the day was a nice slot redfish over 22”, and we also caught several jack crevalles, and mangrove snapper to keep the action going. A big pod of dolphins, between 6-8, with a couple of babies played in the wake of the boat for a good 10-15 minutes giving us one of the best experiences I’ve had with them. We finished the day with a big old manatee checking us out at the last spot of the day, to once again make great memories of our day on Estero Bay.
